In Expert Mode, you have to use every Trick you can to survive. If you don´t have a Farm for Herbs, you definitively should build one. Potions are very, very helpful for Bosses, Events and even for the everyday challenges of Terraria. Also, have you tried fishing? Armored Cavefish and Ebonkoi/Crimson Tigerfish are very helpful ´cause you can make endurance and wrath Potions (take 10% less damage and do 10% more damage!)

Also, use Fish like Bass or Pumpkins (buy seeds from Dryad) to get the "Well Fed" buff. It increases your stats a bit (Regeneration is Key)

Also, try to get the Best out of your Weapons and Accessories by Reforging them!
Trust me, the Money you spend there is absolutly worth it!

The last thing i have to say is that if you don´t know how to survive and thrive, you probably should stay at Normal Mode. Expert mode isn´t called Expert Mode for Fun, you know. wow this is what i'm looking for! and btw i ive been doing the plant and potions stuff like you said ,soooo any other advices what gears should i aim to get to survive this pain in the ♥♥♥♥. XD XD
